The letter cannot maintain the freshness of the fragrance that is truth, only the SPIRIT can do this

What You bring from within will save You, but what You do not bring from within can likewise kill You.

The idea of following the SPIRIT and not someone's interpretation is because of the temporal ability of the LETTER to maintain the "fragrance" that is the truth, but the SPIRIT is able to keep this fragrance as fresh as a daisy. Therefore the storyteller does not want Your worship but points through the story of his experience to the source of truth.
